Hung Up

He immediately regretted hanging up. She was right, but could he admit that? He stared at the phone, unsure.
Taking a deep breath, he dialed her number.
No answer.
He kept calling. She was ignoring him. Giving up, he went to bed.

The phone hung from a cord around her neck on the other end.
